No Such Luck...

Luke has gone back to his old ways of waking up 2-3 times a night. At least I know that he can sleep a long stretch so here is hoping for another good night.

Through the night...

I can't even believe it myself but Luke, who never sleeps for more then 4 hours at night, slept from 8-5 AM. I guess he heard his dad tell him that he was going to have to cry it out. I think it is due to the fact that he ate a whole jar of Earths Best apples and had a full tummy. We will have to see if we can make it another good stretch tonight.

Weekend in Vail

We headed up to the hills (really mountains) for one last weekend in Vail before I start back to work. On Saturday Nick wanted to take his first family trip off roading in his new 4 Runner. I protested but after Nick said I was trying to ruin his weekend :) I decided that we might as well try this out. Despite my constant worrying about it being too bumpy for Luke we got great views of Vail mountain and the surrounding areas. Now that Luke is old enough we tried out the kid carrier pack for the first time. Luke loved it! In one of the pictures Nick is trying to imitate the Captain Morgan pose minus the alcohol. To my surprise, there were so many butterflies out. They were beautiful. Once we got down we ventured around Vail Village and plopped Luke in front of some flowers. I think is expression is saying "why are you putting me here, flowers are for girls."

Terra Cotta Soldiers

Luke's first museum experience was going to see the Terra Cotta Soldiers that were on loan from China. They were made in 210 BC by the Emperor but only discovered by farmers in 1974. This is one of the soldiers on display.

Melis

While I was at home in Claremont, Melissa, my friend from Boston College drove out to visit and meet Luke. Don't mind her broken finger... she hurt it bowling. :)

Maui

The big boys (Dad, Nick and Dean) had to go back to work after a week in Kauai. So, Mom, Luke and I took advantage of being in Hawaii and flew over to Maui for a second week of sun and surf. Luke enjoyed the pool water much more in Maui because it was warmer. We explored the island and took Luke on his first "off roading" experience through the sugar cane fields because a road was blocked due to an accident. Luke also met his first "local" of the island while we were eating dinner by the beach.

Family

On Tuesday of this week, both sides of the family got the chance to meet Luke, most of them for the first time. We are very blessed that 4 generations of family were able to be there. Everyone commented on his cheeks but had seen them before in the many pictures that my mom sends out to our family.
