Wes' Birthday Party!

The family got together today to celebrate Wes' first birthday.  Grandy and Grandad Damuth were out from California.  Grammy and Papa Belitz as well as Uncle Chris came over also.  Wes did not take an afternoon nap so he was a bit fussy until he saw his Bonnie Brae ice cream cake and attacked it!  YUM!  Wes ended up eating too much that he got a bit sick.  :(  After all the excitement he is passed out.  :)

Look at me walking with my Dad!  I scrunch up my nose for pictures just like my Uncle Dean and Uncle Rob.  Must be a family trait from the Clark side!

Happy Birthday to our little guy!  It seems like this past year has flown by and we can't believe you are 1 year old today.  This day brought back memories for me because a year ago today I was supposed to be heading off to our field day at Heritage but went off to the hospital to be induced instead.  You were born a little after 3 PM and weighed 6 pounds 6 oz.  Since then you have grown up in more ways then we can count.  Here are a few things that you like and are doing on your 1st birthday.

Talking... you like to say da-da more then ma but when you really want me you manage to say ma.  This is probably because I don't make you cry to much before I pick you up.  You also are trying to say hi but it sounds more like "hi-ka."  And we have also been saying up to you everytime you want to be picked up and for the first time today, you clearly said "up!"  Too cute!

Walking...you love to walk around the house in between our legs while we hold your hands.  When I get tired of walking around and bending over and I stop you get upset because you want to walk more.  You are trying to transfer from one spot to another but are still working on that skill.

Eating... wow... you are such a great eater!  There really is not a food that you have tried that you have not liked except for my BBQ pulled pork.  Some of your favorite foods are yogurt, anything green like peas and broccoli, ground beef especially in spaghetti sauce and bananas.  

Teething... you now have 3 teeth, your two bottom teeth and one tooth up top.  You waited till 11 months to get your first tooth, just like your brother.

Playing... you love to look at the talking Elmo on the window sill and laugh at him.  You also love watching Luke play at his train table when you get a second to stand there.  Most of the time Luke says you are in the way.

Reading... you love to listen to books and try to take them away from Luke.  You love Brown Bear, Brown Bear and Big Dog, Little Dog.  You also like to turn the pages of the board books, sometime too fast for me to read the page!

Cuddling... you still love to go to sleep next to your Mom and Dad, especially your Mom.  You also still love to be held and carried around to see all the sights.  You cry when you want to be picked up and, of course, I always do.

We love you Wesley Dean and may you have a wonderfully blessed year!

Grandy was here again!

Grandy Damuth came out for a week filled with lots of love, fun and yummy food.  She arrived on Saturday afternoon just when we heard about our house.  Then on Sunday, after going out to breakfast she took me shopping for some summer clothes.  Fun!  What a great mother's day we had together.  Throughout the week she loved, sang and played with Wes and even took him on "field trips" to the grocery store.  He really grew this week in more then just his weight.  He got his first two teeth and really started enjoying walking while holding onto our hands.  I think we all gained weight from her yummy cooking because Luke even said that his tummy poofed out!  Too fun.  Thanks for all you do for our family mom.  You truly amaze me every time you come out a visit.

Our new home!

We went under contract for our new Highlands Ranch home on Sunday!  It all happened so fast.  We sold our house the Sunday before and went shopping on Tuesday and Wednesday of that week.   We then decided to look at one more house again on Friday and made an offer on that house.  As we were walking down the path in the open space our Realtor came running down the path and told us that an offer was made on our house an hour before.  Saturday was spent waiting to hear what the sellers were deciding to do.  Finally late Saturday afternoon we got a call that they accepted our offer.  (our offer included that they leave their basement couch)  So excited to be moving but sad to leave Wash Park.  We will be in our house  mid June.  :)
