Sunny California Spring Break 2013

I took the boys out to visit Grandy and Grandad for Spring Break.  It was great seeing our extended family.  It took a long time to leave Denver as we had a large late spring snow storm.

Things to remember

Both boys have been saying funny things lately...

Luke does not like to pick up his toys at night.  He has told Nick that when he has kids, they will be the boss of the house and Luke's children will not have to pick up any toys.  Luke still has a good friend Brooke at school and he calls her Brookie.  When I ask about her he smiles and tilts his head and gets shy.

Wes:  "When you take away my toys I feel frustrated... also grumpy."  and he says "of course" lots.  For example, can I check your diaper, of course.... should we go get dressed, of course.  Luke has been bugging Wes lately just to get a reaction.  When Luke did not stop yesterday, Wes opened his mouth as wide as he could and bit Luke's leg really hard.  ( I can't really blame him for doing this.)  Luke screamed and Wes cried when he was sent to uh-oh time.  Afterwards, Wes said sorry and told me that he used, "his fangs" to bite Luke.

Happy 5th Birthday Luke!

What a fun birthday party we had for Luke.  Many of his friends were able to join him at Big Monkey Bizness for an hour of play time.  After lots of running around and more cake we were all exhausted!  All 4 of us took long naps.

Luke's writing

I woke up.  I got dressed.

I hop in car.  We go to dentist.  

Luke has recently shown an interest in writing.  When Wes is sleeping, Luke has been writing.  From my training in teaching kindies how to write, I did not help Luke spell the words.  I just stretched them out and had him listen to the sounds he hears.  Here are the first two pages of his writing...

Skiing in Vail

After Thanksgiving we drove up to Vail for warm up runs in preparation for our trip to Mammoth over Christmas.  Luke did great on the slopes and even rode the chairlift for the first time. He loved it so much that he took 3 more trips up.  Wes enjoyed the warm weather and being held as we skied down the bunny hill and took the magic carpet back up.
