California here we come!

It was a great flight to California with both boys.  Luke watched The Polar Express on the flight and Wes and I played in the seat and walked around on the plane.  Many people asked how I did it by myself but I have to say that both boys were great and there was no crying!  Lets hope for a great return trip back.

Wheels on the bus...

Luke loves to ride my old Schwinn bike.  It is over 30 years old and works great thanks to Grandy who had it refurbished.  He likes to ride his bike every morning after breakfast and goes around Wes on his bus.  

We stopped in downtown Claremont to play in the water fountains,

I just love to play in water any chance I get!

Luke went from being cautious in the water to jumping to Grandad and even getting his head wet.
He kept saying,  "I just love the jacuzzi!"  

We ended the night roasting marshmallows and eating yummy somores.

We love the Highlands Ranch parks because they have a "beach."  Both boys love playing in the sand and water there.  Wes decided that he wanted to get dirty and loved splashing in the water.  When we were done I stripped him down and I ran back to the house while Luke rode his Kazam balance bike.

Wes was bundled up in his life jacket so he could go as well.

We spent the weekend with 2 other couples in Vail.  There were a total of 12 people together...6 adults and 6 kids.  It was a blast hiking, canoeing and after the kids were asleep, playing cards and having a great time.

First swim lessons

I signed up Luke for swim lessons now that we are settled in our house.  He was not so sure about it and then really did not like it (he cried a lot) and has not wanted to go back. I am still taking him and hoping that he will like it better soon.  He loves to play in the water but does not like to get his head wet.  His teacher Mr. Victor is super nice and reassuring.

Betta Baby!

As a present to Luke and Wes, Grandy Damuth got the boys a betta fish.  Of course it had to be blue, Luke's favorite color and he got to name it.  After much thought, he named her Betta Baby!  Too cute!  He loves to feed her breakfast each morning and watch her swim.  He told me that he thinks it makes her happy when we sit at the table and watch her.  This is our first official family pet.  I hope I can keep her alive for the next 3 to 4 years.  :)

My mom came out this past week to help me put the finishing touches on the new house. We worked hard every moment of the week unpacking, organizing, hanging all the frames in the house and of course shopping. I could not have done it without her!
