Happy 5th Birthday Luke!

What a fun birthday party we had for Luke.  Many of his friends were able to join him at Big Monkey Bizness for an hour of play time.  After lots of running around and more cake we were all exhausted!  All 4 of us took long naps.

Luke's writing

I woke up.  I got dressed.

I hop in car.  We go to dentist.
Luke has recently shown an interest in writing.  When Wes is sleeping, Luke has been writing.  From my training in teaching kindies how to write, I did not help Luke spell the words.  I just stretched them out and had him listen to the sounds he hears.  Here are the first two pages of his writing...

Skiing in Vail

After Thanksgiving we drove up to Vail for warm up runs in preparation for our trip to Mammoth over Christmas.  Luke did great on the slopes and even rode the chairlift for the first time. He loved it so much that he took 3 more trips up.  Wes enjoyed the warm weather and being held as we skied down the bunny hill and took the magic carpet back up.

Gobble Gobble

What a fun treat for our Kindergarten students and the teachers today.  We had a visit from Douglas County 4H to talk to our kids about turkeys... and no, they don't eat them.  I think the adults might have had more fun then the kids did.  What a fun experience to bring the farm to our "city kids."

Happy Halloween

We had a beautiful, warm Halloween night, perfect for trick or treating.  Luke was super excited this year to run around the neighborhood with the rest of the kids getting as much candy as possible.  Wes made it to about 10 houses and then wanted to come back home.  He loved handing out candy to our trick or treaters that stopped by.  Luke decided he loves all kinds of candy and Wes loves Kit Kats this year.
Spiderman and a scary spider.  I always carve the pumpkins the same as their costumes.

Rock Creek Farms Pumpkin Patch

We met our friends the Nelsons and Rufners out at the pumpkin patch.  It was a beautiful fall day with lots of sun and even a bit of snow on the mountains.  The boys loved the pumpkin patch but liked the slide and petting zoo even more.  Our pumpkins are proudly displayed on our front porch.
