Guanella Pass - Georgetown

We had a great day viewing the aspens changing.  An hour outside of Highlands Ranch is the city of Georgetown.  It was a perfect day for a hike and to look at the leaves.  Wes even hiked more then an mile by himself.

School Days

We are all loving our respective schools right now.  Teaching morning Kindergarten is a blast and I have been receiving positive feedback from my parents of the kids I teach.  One kiddo was sad that we did not have school on a Friday and another kiddo came home after writers workshop and started writing on his own.  For the most part they are very sweet kids.

Luke is loving Cougar Run and I am happy that we are having him go there.  He is learning handwriting and is enjoying writing at home when I spell the words out for him.  Last week I was told by his teacher that he was showing off his muscles to the girls on the playground.  When I asked who is friend was he told me Brookie.  Luke says, "This is because she is pretty and she wears pretty dresses everyday to school."

Wes talks about Ms. Lori's all the time and smiles when Nick drops him off.  He says every day that he,
"plays trains, plays legos and Ms. Lori changes his big BM!"  Too funny.  I know he does so much more then this but this is the report I get every day from him.

A big shout out goes to Nick who has been a super dad and husband.  He gets the boys up, dressed, fed, lunches packed and share ready to go every day.  This allows me to be at school at 7AM every morning which I need to do to get ready for my school day.

Up to Vail we went for Oktoberfest.  Lots of dancing, beer drinking and brat eating.  Nick even entered a brat eating contest.  Once it was clear he would not win, he backed down and ate 1 1/2 brats.  The winner at 5!  Gross...

Labor Day Weekend

The 4 of us took off a day early for Labor Day weekend and went up to Vail and explored Sylvan Lake which is outside of Eagle.  What a beautiful lake and I might have convinced Nick to go camping with the boys next year.

Wednesday is Grammy day!

Every Wednesday, Grammy Belitz watches the boys.  They have so much fun baking, playing, reading and more.  Today, the boys decorated a mountain cake for Nick for his 35th birthday.

First day of PreK and Preschool

The boys had a great first day of PreK and preschool.  Luke is at Cougar Run in their Little Cougars program and Wes is at Ms. Lori's house.  Since I teach in the mornings, they are there from 8-12 and I pick them up after my K students go home.

My Kindergarten Classroom

I wanted to blog about my classroom so I don't forget what it looks like.  After spending hours setting up it finally came together and I think looks great.  Nick watched the boys over many Saturdays and Sundays while I went into my classroom over the summer.  Several Saturdays, I played tennis and then went in after my workout.  The white board you see is actually a Promethium board that is like a big whiteboard connected to the computer.  I love it and the kids love it as well.  

My parents also came out for a week to watch the boys so I could help get my classroom set up.  Mom went shopping at Lakeshore for many of the things I needed while Dad played with the boys.  Thanks to the two of you for helping out so much!
