Vail weekend with friends

The last weekend in July we have gone up to Vail with our friends the Nelsons and Rufners.  It is a bit crazy with 6 adults and 6 kids all together in 1 house but so much fun as well.  We took a trip up to Piney Lake where we hiked and canoed.  Sunday, the farmers market is a must with a stop at the park before.

Kindergarten Teachers in Vegas?

I was off with my team to Vegas for the I teach K! conference.  The funny thing was everyone was surprised that there were a bunch of Kindie teachers in Las Vegas.  We had a blast, learned so much and even walked the strip a bit.

Happy 4th of July

We decided to stay in town for the 4th of July.  This was because it was on a Wednesday and would have been too hard to get up to Vail and back for Nick to work.  We spent the morning at Glenmoor Country Club and then partied the afternoon and evening in our neighborhood.

Thank you Ms. Beth!

We said good-bye today to Ms. Beth, Wes' PT for the past year.  We loved her lots and she helped Wes have fun while doing therapy at the same time  When he started with her he was 13 months and not crawling.  Now he is running.  Wes mentions her from time to time and says, "Make Ms. Beth happy, " when he is doing something she would like.

Vail, Beaver Creek, and Glenwood Springs Family Vacation

We just got back from a week away in the mountains.  It was great to get away and explore new parts of the state that I had not seen before.  We started in Beaver Creek then Vail and finally ended up in Glenwood Springs.

The 5 Senses trail hike.

The boys first chairlift up the mountain.  They both had a great time but we held on tight.

Another day of hiking.  Just had to stop and feel the snow in June.

We took the Coffee Pot road all the way up to the top.  I think it was 19 miles.  Too bad there was so much smoke.

Glenwood Springs Adventure Park.  It was HOT!

Luke loved the alpine slide.

Glenwood Springs pool.  So fun that it is naturally warm.

Checking out the train tracks in downtown Glenwood Springs.

The highlight of our trip was hiking up to Hanging Lake.   It was one of the most beautiful destination hikes I have been to.

Half way up!

Almost there

It was so beautiful!  Well worth the mile hike straight up the mountain.  Luke did such a great job hiking and never complained.  He was just hungry and thirsty.  Wes enjoyed the ride up on Nick's back and also did not cry a bit.

Story Time

Just love how these boys are so sweet to each other most of the time.  Luke pulled Wes close to him during story time and gave him a big hug.

Grandy and Grandad visit the boys

My parents came out for a week and we all had a blast.  It was so fun to see how excited the boys were around Grandy and Grandad Damuth.  We had a great week at the Rockies game, riding the Georgetown Loop and playing.  The most exciting event of the week was when Luke learned how to ride his "big" bike without training wheels.  Grandad got Luke pads to wear and he just took off.  My parents also were very helpful with me moving all my stuff into my kindergarten classroom.  Nick and I were able to go out to dinner and see a movie, the Avengers.
